Since the average diameter of salt spray particles stipulated by the national standard should be 0.4, the actual measurement result currently available in China is 0.5. At present, Europe's measurement of the median diameter of salt spray particles in actual tests is 0.65. However, with the continuous popularization and progress of other detection methods, the traditional sodium flame method is no longer used in Europe. Moreover, the relevant departments in China are also working hard to revise the original national standards. At present, whether to abolish the use of sodium flame method or to continue to use sodium flame method has not yet been implemented.
